After a couple of days work on the bus I am at last ready to roll onwards.
I was given the use of a washing machine and all the curtains have now been wased and rehung. I believe it is the first real spring clean for 19 years and now the whole bus is sparling.
It was great to get into a really clean bed last night.
My friend Sofus took his son and myself fishing in his boat last night. Caught nothing, but really enjoyed it. Update again sooon.

Back in the Faroe Islands and very contented.
The exhaust was damaged coming off Norrona but a spare piece will be here today. Not expensive, but frustrating. I am able to do the repair myself, with assistance from my friend Gordon. The first few days will be spent in Fugliafiord before I travel around the islands.
Updates will not be so frequent this year. Because of telephone costs and the price of fuel and shipping I have to cut costs down to the bone. Thank God for a fishing rod. I caught a Pollack for my evening meal this morning.
Tuesday 03rd of June 2008 12:37:54 PM

Norrona is scheduled to leave here tomorrow morning.
I waited all last evening for a pastor to arrive but it appears he got caught up with other things. The weather here is very hot and sunny with inside bus temperatures exceeding 35 degrees.
Doctor Hailwood has set off for his holiday and heading for the northern areas of Norway.
Thanks to all who are praying for the work, the peace of the Lord is very evident in my heart.
Saturday 31st of May 2008 11:48:31 AM

Arrived in Bergen last night at 11 30pm. I missed the Norrona by 1 hour so will have to wait for a week for the next ferry.
It was a good trip over with many opportunities to speak to English and Norwegian people. I pray something will happen during my time here waiting.
The fare to Faroe has doubled in price since February so much prayer is needed to get the ticket.
I am having problems parking the bus here, I keep getting asked to move. The official car park is 48 pounds a day. That is impossible for me so please pray.
Doctor Hailwood travelled with me and sends his greetings to all.

Nearly ready to move out of Britain for Norway and my beloved Faroe Islands.
It has been a difficult winter this year with the diesel prices rocketing.
My expences have risen by nearly 30% and I wonder how other ministries are managing to survive.
If the Lord has spoken to you about helping the work. please contact me by email or contact Eric at Caleb Initiative.
I cannot access my po box when I leave Britain.
So many good things have happened during the winter and YOUR prayers will ensure that the Lord will continue to make the work grow, IF it is Our Heavenly Father's Will.
Monday 26th of May 2008 05:07:10 AM

The next few days will be spent in the Lancashire area.
On tuesday I leave for Norway from Newcastle accompanied by my doctor who is travelling through Norway for his holidays.
In the last few weeks many people have told me they would make entries on the web, but I still await their comments.
My back is still painful when driving but improving daily.
Friday 23rd of May 2008 08:09:31 AM

A blessed time since I last wrote.
I travelled through Wales to meet a friend in Newcastle Emlyn and then across country to Builth Wells. It was good to meet up with Martin in Llandindod Wells last evening after a gap of five years.
Today I am in Hereford and then heading for Lancashire and getting ready to leave for Norway on Tuesday.
The back pain is definately getting better. I know that people are praying out there because I can feel the improvement daily.
Much prayer is needed on the financial front as the pound is worth so little in Scandinavia and Diesel prices are soaring.
All I can say is thank God for my friends who send finance to Caleb Initiative. I will be needing them this year.
Wednesday 21st of May 2008 10:21:26 AM

The back is a little better, but it feels like it could be a few days of pain still to come.
Yesterday was a busy day with many people visiting from the surrounding ateas including four people who drov over to Bristol from a conference in Wales. I cross the severn bridge later this morning, heading for Wales. I don't know where I am going yet, but that is part of thrill of service.
Monday 19th of May 2008 10:30:28 AM

Up on the downs on the outskirts of Bristol. I spent yesterday sleeping for most of the day, I damaged my back a few days ago and have been forced to take it easy.
Even though I was surrounded by hundreds of people taking part in a cancer run I dared not risk too many people hugging me so I allowed the texts on the bus to do the work for a day and only met close friends.
I do believe that I am allowed a day off now and again if I don't feel well.
Sunday 18th of May 2008 10:52:40 AM

Wednesday and Friday were spent in the Weston Super Mare area,I was asked to speak to two groups of people in recovery. What nice people they all were and they listened so well.
Please pray for these young people with various problems.
How I pray that the Lord spoke to hearts during the times of testimony.
I am now in Bristol for the weekend before heading for mid and south wales.
Friday 16th of May 2008 10:16:00 PM

After an early dinner with the Commander in Bristol I arrived at Weston at around 7pm.
Arrangments hav been made to visit a local church in the morning and I will be lunching with a few of the lads who are still struggling with addictions. It is good to feel useful and wanted.
Wednesday 14th of May 2008 01:36:24 AM

A day of driving has just been completed. The heat in the bus beat me in the end. At times it registered 34degrees and was intolerable.
I can't get north quickly enough. Tonight I am on the outskirts of Warrington and heading for Weston Super Mare tomorrow.
Monday 12th of May 2008 08:21:22 PM

In 2002 I was touring the Islands of Scotland and called on the Island of Mull.
During my time there I drove across the island and visited Iona for a couple of hours.
Whils't waiting for the boat I spoke to a family on holiday there and gave a couple of bible pictures to a small boy and girl.
Last week in Strabane I once again met the mother of the children and we shared our memories of the sunny day on that lovely island.
She invited me to call on them if ever I was in the area of their home in Larkhall in Scotland.
Today I once again met the whole family at the church they attend in Strathaven and as I spoke to the church about the work I once again saw the plans of the Lord come together.
It was a wonderful service with the presence of the Holy Spirit very evident.
Eggs were thrown at the bus this afternoon as I welcomed visitors but it could not dampen the joy in my heart.
This evening the bus was packed for the second time today as the youth club held their meeting here.
This afternoon I was visited by a young man who had just given his heart to Jesus during a combined church outreach.
Sunday 11th of May 2008 11:41:31 PM

At last the winter is over and once again I move out in faith to see what the Lord has in the storehouse of blessings for me.
I have just arrived in Stranraer and heading for Ayr.
The plan has not yet been revealed to me, but, I am sure the Lord will direct my paths as always.
The boat for Norway is booked on the 24th and until then I will travel as directed.
Please keep a prayerful eye on this page. I will update it as often as I can.
Thursday 08th of May 2008 09:14:58 PM

Have you ever noticed how impossible it can be when you need to do something and the same roblems get in the way.
I have been trying so hard for the last few days to get on the website, but as always it was impossible to get a connection.
The weekend at Strabane was again a tremendous success and even though I had a smaller number of helpers it was a great experience.
Many young people called in to see me again and one group even asked me to pray with them. This is a tremendous breakthrough.
The service in the methodist church was well attended and the drama from the young people had me in tears. It was so moving.
Everyone is talking about unity of the churches and I believe that a massive breakthrough has occurred in this town.
Please pray For Tony Quinton. I have known him for a number of years, I met him in Valencia on the ring of Kerry in 2000 and he has supported the work ever since.
Tuesday 06th of May 2008 01:01:23 PM

Sunday was spent in Bangor meeting up with Pastor Eric Moore and his people. Monday I headed for Castledawson and the garage.
The window has been seen to and other small jobs sorted out
At last I have received a refund from Heavy Duty Parts in Retford. I had to ask a solicitor friend to intervene in the end and only got satisfaction when he called them and sent them a letter.
I am now ready for the weekend in Srabane beginning on saturday.
Friday 02nd of May 2008 09:29:43 AM

I spoke at a home group in Tobermore yesterday at the home of Sam and Mary Service. This couple have done so much to help the work in Northern Ireland and are a treasure.
At the moment I am on the way to Bangor Independant Methodist to speak at the sunday school and sing at the evening meeting. Really looking forward to meeting the folk here again.
Sunday 27th of April 2008 12:29:35 PM

I left Trillick yesterday after speaking at the local primary school.
It will be a struggle to pay for the window repair but as usual in this work If all goes well everyone wants to be part of it, but if problems occur I have to get it sorted out alone.
Thank God that Jesus is always with me whatever the circumstances.
I have just finished speaking at a church in the Derry area. The bible club finished this evening.
Next weekend is Strabane again and then back to mainland Britain.
Friday 25th of April 2008 11:17:06 PM

Still in Trillick. I was told so often how I was needed here and expected many visitors.
I have been very dissappointed with the response of the local christians.
Parking on the main street was hard to find yesterday but today I am parked on the forecourt of the local petrol station.
Parking yesterday caused problems and a post sticking out above the parking bay broke a top window. The local council are responsible but it is not worth the trouble it would cause trying to sue them.
Wednesday 23rd of April 2008 07:26:19 PM

For the last year I have had many enquiries from the village of Trillick.
A few christians have been praying that I will spend a day there with the bus. I will be on the main street there today and hope that their prayers will be answered too " God's Glory".
Tuesday 22nd of April 2008 09:14:36 AM

Today was spent in the village of Ballinamallard. This is situated between Omagh and Enniskillen and is quite a famous place. Rudyard Kipling lived here for while.
I was invited to the methodist church again and we have had a great time with many visitors to the bus. I spoke in the church and sunday school this morning and held two youth sessions in the bus this evening. The young people were a treasure to me and so inspiring as they soaked up the Living Word.
As I look at the youth of this province I feel that when we leave this earth that it will be in very capable hands.
Please pray for our young adults as they endeavour to live the life of committment to Jesus.
Tomorrow ( Monday ) will be spent at the local cattle market.
Monday 21st of April 2008 01:04:31 AM

Parked on the outskirts of Enniskillen.
The bus is running a treat and a pleasure to drive. Having problems with the firm I bought the first radiator from. They sent the wrong one and are having problems picking it up for return to them in Retford. Until they recieve it they owe me £900 and I am finding it difficult to make ends meet until it is returned to me. I wish I could get parts from another supplier but Heavy Duty Parts in Retford hold the monopoly.
Friday 18th of April 2008 06:50:57 PM

I am still stuck in the garage with repairs going on. I hope to be heading for Enniskillen area tomorrow afternoon and then taking time travelling around Ulster until I leave Ireland next month.
Much work has been done by the mechanics here at Stewarts Garage. Castldawson.
I am really happy with the progress and hope the bus will now be ready for Norway and Finland in June.
Thursday 17th of April 2008 05:44:59 PM

Once again I cannot gain access to the internet and have had to borrow a computer to update the page.
The bus is back in the garage to finish the repairs that had to be abandoned for the last two outreaches. The radiator needs renewing and I am waiting for the replacement. Air problems and some bodywork needs doing also. I hope to be back on the road later this week.
Monday 14th of April 2008 12:37:35 PM

At last I am able to get a signal and tell you a little of what is happening.
The outreach in Strabane was truly amazing, The bus was packed to capacity each time it appeared. The vasst majority of our visitors were teenagers who really had a hunger to hear the gospel and th way the lord is working TODAY.
I brought 2,000 copies of my life story for distribution and by the time we finished I only had 200 left. I am so pleased that I was able to order 25,000 copies of the updated reprint. The team I worked with were phenominal! Mostly young people from various churches. I believe that seven denominations had representatives including 5 from different Free Presbyterian churches. The sunday evening service was incredible with many unsaved in the congregation of a nearly full church. It was good to see the minister from the Apostolic church sharing in a Presbyterian church for the first time EVER in this district. As I prepared to leave the witness area on sunday afternoon two young teenagers cam into the bus for a look round and the final act of the mission before I closed the doors for the last time was to see them led to the Lord by one of our young team members.
Before I close I must thank all the co workers with me for their unstinting service. I will be back in Srabane on the 3rd to 5th May For a follow up weekend. Everybody WELCOME.
Tuesday 08th of April 2008 01:11:48 PM

Things are really encouraging here in Bangor. The number of visitors has fallen off but those who call in are coming for prayer.I spoke at the young peoples meeting last night and then got invaded in the bus afterwards for a great short meeting with the youth.
Two years ago I was called a fool when I had 20,000 copies of my life story printed. I was told that no-one would have so many printed. This weekend I ran out of them and a more compact edition will be printed today for delivery tomorrow. I wonder how long this twenty five thousand will last now they have been brought up to date.
Wednesday 02nd of April 2008 12:16:21 PM

Still at Bangor and having a good and busy time here. I have been made really welcome exept for some drunks throwing stones at the bus last night.Praise the Lord that people are aware of the presence of the bus in their town.
Tuesday 01st of April 2008 10:26:38 PM

Last evening at Bangor Independent Methodist Church was terrific. A nearly full church of people with many unsaved in the congregation. I decided to stay here all day today ( monday ) but so many people have called in to chat that I will be staying for an extra day or until thursday morning. It all depends upon the people of the town. Please pray that we will see great things here. I now know why the window was broken and was forced to rest. The Lord had plans for this week!!!!!
Monday 31st of March 2008 06:41:52 PM

Keep on praying Thordis. If the Lord allows and finance permits, I will be with you for six or eight weeks in July and August. This depends upon the price of the container ship from the Faroe Islands AND AVAILABILITY.
Sunday 30th of March 2008 05:58:56 PM

Rolling again at last. The window is now installed and I am heading for Bangor to speak tomorrow evening. The last days have been a "Frustrated Blessing" with plenty of rest but no telephone signal. Sorry for no updates to you all but looking at the visitor page, I was not the only culprit.Next week in Enniskillen to have the electrics sorted, Strabane from Friday until Monday for united church outreach. Then a week of having the engine sorted and made ready for the top of the world. I should sail for Norway on the last tuesday in May.
