I left Kuhmo last night with a full load of " Swords and will sail within the hour. No signal in the country so will not be on web for a couple of weeks. Keep Praying.
Saturday 23rd of July 2011 03:21:08 PM

After a hectic 48 hours I can at last update the web page.
As promised I sailed for Tallin and the Baltic states. I had promised to take a few thousand gospels with me and headed for a church on the Russian Border.
I was amazed at my reception by the pastor. He had a few gospels but told me he could use as many as I could leave with him.
I emptied the van of every gospel and tract I could find for him. Around 50.000 pieces alltogether.
The church does a massive outreach programme of second hand clothes and food distribution amongs't the poor of the town.
I left a load of food and plenty of dried soup. They make 300 litres at a time!!!
I was able to speak during the evening service. Over a hundred people ( all Russian ) heard the word of God and the service was televised.
I have now returned to Finland and will fill up with more literature for the church and whatever else I can get in the van.
Expensive time !!
But how much is a SOUL WORTH ??????
Please help if you can, but PLEASE PRAY.
Thursday 21st of July 2011 11:29:31 PM

SO HOT!!
I am finding it really difficult as I head south as the temperatures seem to rise with every mile.
I am now heading for the port in Helsinki and should sail later today. The entries will be rather spasmodic when I arrive and for the next few weeks, but I will do my best to upload as I am able.
I have to be very careful with my finances at the moment, not much is coming my way in Finland.I will really have to look at the situation for next year. I try to be wise with the money donated by the people elsewhere and I do not want to subsidise wealthy churches.
Please pray for my safety in the next month!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday 19th of July 2011 10:07:43 AM

Timo and I had a smashing time yesterday as we joined a large group of leaders from Lions Club International.
I was able to share a little of my story with these wonderful people and as I sang out in the open air it became very special to us all.
Our hosts had prepared a special barbeque of pork, cooked underneath an open fire. The meat had a flavour of it's own and melted in my mouth.
Today I spoke at the main Lutheran church and really felt a moving of the Holy Spirit as I spoke of the woman caught in adultery.
This evening was spent loading literature for Estonia. I hope to meet up with Finnish Christians in Tallin on thursday.
Sunday 17th of July 2011 08:42:34 PM

Another wonderful day here in Finland.
Most of today was spent emptying the van in preparation for next week.
I hope to take a few thousand gospels with me to Estonia.
The International night was the best one I have experienced here in Kuhmo. All the singers and speakers gave their all and it really did come over extremely well.I was delighted to hear the name of Jesus used so often this evening and I am sure He was pleased with the whole service.
Once again Timo translated for me and it gets easier each time we join together.
Please pray for Timo and His family. They work so hard here in Kuhmo for Jesus and go the extra mile without even thinking about it.Timo is a true inspiration to all those he works with.
Saturday 16th of July 2011 12:06:44 AM

A good day here with time to relax.
This afternoon was taken up in ministry. It is good when pastors and priests can find someone to talk to.
Tomorrow is international night in the Lutheran Church. Representatives from Russia,India,Israel,Germany and myself from the United Kingdom will sing and speak.
In the morning Timo and I will be recording two programmes to be broadcast on the radio in August. I am told the programmes will be heard by a quarter of the households in Finland and is a very popular programme.
Thursday 14th of July 2011 09:53:06 PM

I do not understand what is happening here in Kuhmo, But I like it!!!!!!!
I spoke at the pentecostal church last night and felt an astounding move of the "Holy Spirit" It left me in tears of joy and I knew that I was standing on "Holy Ground"
Today I spoke in the market place and after a short break went to the Block house flats for outreach and supplied soup and sausages to a great gathering of people.
Tonight I once again spoke to the congregation at the Free Church. The translator was a young man who had never translated before and he did a great job. I spoke about the need for witness and revival and being ready for the Lord's return.
The Lord seems to be moving me into a new and exciting dimention of witness. How I praise Him for His goodness to me.
Tomorrow is a day off but I will be in ministry as well.
Wednesday 13th of July 2011 09:43:36 PM

After taking the day off on sunday I feel much better.
Today a car load of us went to prison. We joined a pastor who retired today after 22 years in prison ministry.I was able to sing and speak to his invited guests from all over Finland. It was a truly wonderful feeling speaking to around a hundred priests and prison workers about the reality of Jesus.
This evening I preached to two seperate groups of prisoners and the services were televised throughout the prison TV network.
Monday 11th of July 2011 08:45:21 PM

Btarted havack in Kuhmo with temperatures well into the thirties. Too hot to breathe or sleep.
The meetings in Kajaani went very well but I experienced problems. I had quite serious chest pains and the evening sermon was very difficult for me. Timo was quite worried as he translated for me but I managed to speak and sing as normal. "God is truly Great"
Today I have been very tired but am now feeling much better.
It can't be heart problems, I gave my heart away.
Saturday 09th of July 2011 08:46:52 PM

Shame on you Brian. I will not be 66 until the end of the month.
All going well.
I am in Kajaani with temperatures well over 30 and waiting for the Kuhmo crowd to arrive for street and church outreach.
Friday 08th of July 2011 03:35:59 PM

During my time in Lapland and Finmark I have seen so many beautiful things. I am constantly amazed at the wonder of our Heavenly Father's creation.
The mountain and forest scenery that I see every day that the resident population seem to take for granted fills me with awe.
The wildlife here is just incredible. From the stupid reindeer that crosses the road in front of moving traffic and the fox that runs everywhere.
I always miss taking pictures because of the speed of many animals and birds. As I was driving along the Alta fjiord yesterday I heard such a noise that I nearly ran off the road. It was so unexpected and just outside the van window. A Golden Eagle was being mobbed by a flock of seagulls and was made to drop the prey it was holding in it's talons.
I tried to stop but the road was too narrow and I could not get a picture.
Who said that being a christian is boring?
Thursday 07th of July 2011 12:30:15 AM

After a mammoth drive through Norway I am now back in Finland. 20 kilometres north of Mounio and around 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle.
I spent a few hours around the Alta Fjiord and called in to see the Tirpitz Museum and found it really interesting. It was hard to visualise German forces driving down such peacefull roads with war on their minds. So many young men died from Germany and Britain as well as other countries to satisfy the craving of Satan and his hordes.
I drive from here to Kajaani to take part in an outdoor meeting and then a church service on Friday evening.
Wednesday 06th of July 2011 05:44:30 PM

I awoke this morning to sub zero temperatures and the mist was so bad I could not see anything out of the van window.
At 11 30am GMT I placed a bible in the North Cape chapel and spent some time there in prayer. As I travelled on the weather changed and within 25 miles I was in temperatures I could not believe. It soon reached 25 degrees.
I made a detour and called in the town of Hammerfest and continue on in the morning for the Alta Fjiord.
It would be interesting to know who joined with me in prayer this morning.
Sunday 03rd of July 2011 09:16:56 PM

I'm sitting on top of the world, as the song goes.
I am actually very close to the top of the Northern world here at the North Cape.
I am in Norway at 71 10 21 degrees north. Oslo is the capital city of the country, I am nearer to the North Pole than I am to Oslo.
It is very cold with snow still very much in evidence.
For days I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit surrounding me and as I turned towards the cape I really felt a cushion of Love so close to me.
The last 30 miles of travel were very difficult driving for me. 5 very high mountains to drive over and 5 tunnels. The longest one was over 8 kilometres long under the sea.
There is an interdenominational church here and on the Alter table is a Nowegian Bible. Tomorrow at 11 30am British time I will be leaving an English Bible on the alter before I depart for the Atla Fjiord, the site of the sinking of the Tirpitz in the last war. I will get there on Tuesday and will spend time praying for the peace of the world.
Saturday 02nd of July 2011 09:42:51 PM

Incredible!!!!!
That is all I can say about yesterday. I really felt the hand of the Lord surrounding me as I waited at Gens Jacobselv. I have been trying to speak to a man in that area for over five years and yesterday I was able to converse with him for over ten minutes. Little Acorns make BIG trees.
The van was photographed from every angle by passers by and on each photo was the Good News.
I left in the evening and have followed the Finland Norwegian border along the top of Finland.
I hope to reach North Cape tomorrow.
Thank you to ALL who took time to pray.
Friday 01st of July 2011 04:54:30 PM

I am now even more certain that I am in the right place.
This morning the exhaust broke in half and the noise was more than I could cope with. I thought I would have to drive the last 100 miles with a headache as there are no garages up here.
I stopped at a place that sold second hand tyres for help and three hours later drove away with the problem fixed.
Each time I am on the verge of a Kingdom Breakthrough I have some sort of problem and the Lord ALLWAYS sorts it out.
I am now in Finnmark and entering Norway after driving through Lapland. I will be at Grens Jacobselv before bedtime.
PRAYER DAY TOMORROW.
Wednesday 29th of June 2011 01:59:43 PM

I had to leave Rovaniemi yesterday as a prayer request was received and required me to move on.
I spent a few hours in Sodankyla and this afternoon called at a gold mining village.
I am now a few miles from Ivalo and will get there tomorrow morning.
I keep on looking at the Vistor Atrium but no new people are logging on.
Monday 27th of June 2011 07:22:01 PM

I am now in Rovaniemi and preparing to head north tomorrow. Before I go onwards I need to have the front tyres replaced as these seem to be losing their grip on some of the more treacherous roads.
I have been told by my friend John Ellis that the church he attends in Sneyd Park in Bristol have designated a day of prayer for this work next thursday. I would like to thank the rector David for making such a wonderful committment that really means everything to me. How I wish more churches would pray for an evangelist they know in this way.
I would hope to be at the end of the Russian Norwegian Border in Grens Jacobselv on that day.
Sunday 26th of June 2011 03:09:49 PM

I have spent the last couple of days driving to the Arctic Circle.
Yesterday I visited a local zoo to see the true animals of the Arctic forest and was appalled at the conditions they live in. It reminded me of the zoo I was taken to as a young child. Cramped cages, Smelly bored animals. The animals were caged outside but I felt a sense of emptiness as I looked at the bears and the Lynx. Even the reindeer seemed very bored.
My frien Anna Marie sent me a text about a couple of meetings so I went to one i Posio last night and had a good time with people who pray for me.
I have two meetings today, just over the border in Sweden and then back to the border beyond tha Arctic Circle.
Saturday 25th of June 2011 09:20:04 AM

The service at the Free Church in Kuhmo last night was a true gift from God.
How I wish it had been recorded and that I could listen to the words the Holy Spirit uttered through me. I am often amazed at the way God uses each one of us to fulfill his divine plan.
I was making soup until nearly 3 am for the outreaches today and every drop has been used.
A couple of hours in the market place followed by a soup and hot dog outreach at the block houses.
Around a hundred litres of soup was given away and over 200 glasses of orange and blackcurrant juice were consumed. The work is very tiring but totally fulfilling.
I leave Kuhmo for a few days tomorrow morning and head to the far north of Europe. I apologise in advance because I know that for a few days I will not have a signal for the computer. If anything goes wrong I will find a way of leaving a message on the Visitors Atrium.
Why don't YOU leave a message for me.
Thursday 23rd of June 2011 05:47:47 PM

I must put the concerns of Eric and Bengt to rest.
Today I never left the van and spent most of the day reading and sleeping and finished the day with a meal of Chips and meat which I cooked myself. I am finding myself getting tired more easily this year and intend to pace myself sensibly whenever possible.
I have a meeting tomorrow evening and outreach on thursday then I head slowly along the Border of Finland and Russia and then the journey to the Northernmost tip of Europe at the North Cape.
Tuesday 21st of June 2011 10:46:33 PM

Yesterday I went with Timo to conduct a bible study at the Block Houses. We studied Mathew 5 and such a lot was gained from the time.
On the way home Timo went to visit a couple who he has never visited before and I was invited to join them. It turned out that the man and his wife hold the position of District Governor for the International Organisation " Lions Club International"
We have been invited to return in July and join them and an international gathering in July where I hope to be able to sing and maybe speak to the gathering.
Today should be a day off!!!!!!!!
Tuesday 21st of June 2011 08:39:50 AM

Another good day here in Kuhmo.
This evening I was able to sing and preach in the main church and had a wonderful time. Many came forward for prayer at the end.
The music group were terrific and I was really delighted to see two young men from the alcoholic unit in the group. I remember praying for them last year and now they are clean and following Jesus.
Sunday 19th of June 2011 08:14:39 PM

This morning was an early start as I had to set up the tables and chairs for a street market open air.
All went well until the rain started and people began to look for shelter.
I unrolled the awning and suddenly we had a totally captive audience.
The meeting lasted for nearly three hours and the people with me found many opportunities to speak to visitors.
The rain had been very heavy today but it has been a good day.
I was showing Timo how to get rid of the vast accumalation of water from the the awning and did it the wrong way. It was not really funny, but everyone laughed as I got caught and soaked from head to toe as the water poured all over me.
Saturday 18th of June 2011 10:43:05 PM

A great day surrounded by friends!!!!!
This afternoon a group of us went to Kajaani for a street outreach. The tables were used for the first time and the awning unfurled. Soup, biscuits, crisps, sweets, coffee and orange juice all led to a wonderful time.
The feelings about the new vehicle are very mixed by everyone but all must realise that what I drive now is exactly what the Lord led me to so I am satisfied.
Friday 17th of June 2011 08:38:46 PM

The sail to Denmark was good but I was still plagued with a diesel leak near the engine.
I drove across Sweden to Sandviken and spoke on friday evening in the main Lutheran church. It was good to find I had so many friends in the area.
On saturday I went to visit a mechanic at Hammerby and he soon sorted out my fuel problem for me. He told me that a prayer meeting was being held at the local church and I decided to visit.
The meeting was finished but one man was still praying quietly when I walked in.
It was my friend Seppo from the local Alcoholic Rehabilitation Centre who was amazed to see me there.
He was leading a conference for two days and had just been told that the main speaker was not coming for some reason. I walked in as he was praying for direction. God answered before he asked and we had a great time as the Spirit told me how to speak and what to say.
On monday I sailed for Turku in Finland and took two days to drive along the bottom of the country and then followed the Russian border to Kuhmo.
Once again a divine appointment as Timo the priest was waiting for me to speak at a youth camp this afternoon. The diary is now full for the next two weeks. Please keep on praying.
Thursday 16th of June 2011 07:11:45 PM

Still waiting for the ferry but it should sail this evening.
I wonder just what the Lord has in store for me on this trip? So much has gone wrong recentlt that I anticipate a journey full of blessings. The financial side is desperate but I have been down this route before. I pray that great things will happen and the cash lasts out until I get to Finland.
I hope to arrive in the Sandviken area by wednesday or thursday after a long drive across five countries.
Please, Please Pray.
Monday 06th of June 2011 02:24:10 PM

I am still waiting to sail from Harwich.
It was impossible to change my ticket due to a full boat. The ferry company dfds would not refund my money so I could not change my route to Sweden.
I feel the Lord has a plan somewhere along the trip from here to Denmark.
Sunday 05th of June 2011 11:56:42 AM

Nothing could be done to eliminate the constant bouncing of the van as I travel.
The drive from Weston towards London was exhausting as I was caught up in a forty mile traffic jam. This was caused by a multiple crash just outside Bath. I counted four Articulated lorries and three cars that had been completely written off.
It was good to meet up with Eric, but it was only for a few minutes due to my arm and neck giving me a lot of pain.
I am now at the port in Harwich and hoping to sail tomorrow if I can change my ticket.
Friday 03rd of June 2011 05:06:55 PM

The Lord reigns!
It has been a good day today in Weston super Mare as I have attempted to clean up the van.
The cooker did not work properly and had a very bad gas leak. I have now replaced it with the cooker from the bus and all seems to be ok.
Tomorrow the van goes to the mechanic's to try and sort out the very serious bouncing problems.
Please pray that I have enough money, I also have to pay £2,000 insurance tomorrow.
